Don’t give Colin the camera again!

Looks like a classic case of his finger in front of the lens!

Most of Mum & Dad’s old black & white photos don’t have any information on the back to say who is in it or when and where it was taken.

This photo does but it’s a bit confusing!

It reads: ’Lee relaxing in my back garden 47 Gorseyville Rd Cheshire, one Sunday after a curry lunch - Colin took this but it isn’t very clear. Aug. 58.’

There is a Gorseyville Road in Bebington and that’s Mum on the right with her hands behind her head but is that Doris next to her? Who is Lee? Did Doris ever live in Bebington and did she ever call Mum Lee? Who is Colin?

Any thoughts Rob and Anne?

So I’ve started scanning all the old B&W photos and letters but it’s going to be a long old job! Could take a me year but enjoyable and worth it.

Dave.

  1. Oh my gosh l member now that Auntie Doris used to call Mum "Nancy Lee"! Obviously a nickname but l don't know the reason.
Don't recall anything of the address though?
Colin was Uncle Pat's son along with Clive & Kevin. If I'm wrong then 'Tricia & Pam are best to say as they are their step brothers.
If the pics all take another year Dave then that's totally fine by me - a trickle feed is always better digested than too much all at once!
Looking forward to them as & when you can!🥰X

  2. Yes, that rings a bell about Doris calling Mum 'Nancy Lee'! I did think it looked like Doris so she must have lived in Bebington then.
    BTW, I know it's you Anne! 😂

    2. BTW Laura, you look so much like Nancy in this photo and many more when she was in her twenties! Mum had a lovely happy face! 😀

  5. Such a treat to have this blog; thank you, Dave! It’s so lovely to see Nanny looking happy and carefree. I’ve always loved printed photos, especially with little notes or descriptions on the back. Just like letters and postcards, they carry an almost forgotten charm - something I think we should bring back.
